Producer + Composer

Kasimyn, born Aditya Surya Taruna, is an Indonesian electronic musician and DJ working across experimental club music and performance. He is best known as one half of Gabber Modus Operandi, alongside MC Ican Harem, a project recognised internationally for fusing traditional Indonesian musical forms with high-energy electronic genres including gabber and noise.

Through Gabber Modus Operandi, Kasimyn combines indigenous rhythms and instrumentation with contemporary electronic production, creating work that moves fluidly between local tradition and global club culture. In 2022, he collaborated with Björk on her album Fossora, contributing to tracks including“Atopos,”“Trölla-Gabba” and the title track. Björk has acknowledged his distinctive approach to electronic music, noting his ability to integrate authentic Balinese rhythmic structures with contemporary techno. She has described his work as a seamless fusion that modernises traditional elements while preserving their cultural integrity.

Alongside his collaborative work, Kasimyn releases solo material under the name Hulubalang. In 2023, he released Bunyi Bunyi Tumbal, an album developed through research into Indonesian war archives, using sound as a means to explore memory, history and emotional response. His work continues to circulate internationally, positioning him as a key figure in the contemporary electronic music landscape.
